crammer boy

I turned around yesterday and found James with my camera bag on his back...

Mommy, I look like a crammer boy??
(crammer=camera)

I sure love my crammer boy.

At the Drive-In

One of the best things about being a parent is seeing your child's eyes light up when they experience things for the first time...like going to their very first movie!

James could not wait to go see Toy Story 3 at the drive-in...

We made a nice "place" in the front seat of the car with pillows and blankets and got all comfy. We had about an hour to wait before the movie started, so we read a few Toy Story and Toy Story 2 books to pass the time (and for a little Toy Story refresher)!

Our little buddy loved being in the front seat with Mommy and Daddy! He ate lots of popcorn, held on tight to my hand during the previews (they were a little scary), and thought the big screen was so cool! He amazingly stayed awake for the first hour or so, then fell fast asleep on my shoulder.

Today he told us that he wants to go again! "Please??"

Lately....

...I have had a small cleaning and cooking helper.

...James can't get enough of washing his hands and face and brushing his "tees" all by himself.

...we have been looking forward to moving to San Antonio in August! Oh how I dislike apartment hunting...

...our buddy has become a little jumper. He loves being a frog, too.

...stickers are awarded in our house for brushing teeth. Except not for Mommy and Daddy.

...James is learning more and more by the minute. He called this an "ice cube."

...the boy has done lots of playing with "sets" with Bapa.

...James and I sat in a helicopter at the children's museum. James didn't care much for it. I thought it was cool and it made me feel like I was in Lost.

...we love spending time with our friends, Spencer and his mom Chelsie.

...we drove to Colorado and got all gussied up for the young couple's open house (doesn't James look smashing in his little tie? My mom totally made it out of a big tie.). James mostly loved drawing with the hotel pen and pad of paper in the hotel room with Bapa. He kept the pen and is now very possessive of it.

...we've heard lots of piano playing from this boy.

...James can't get enough of Bapa!

...Uncle Dosh graduated!

...I sure love my future Dr. Boster (and not just lately - always!). With our eyesight, it'll be nice to have a built-in optometrist in our house.

...we hung out with our awesome new brother-in-law, who everyone thinks looks like Jonathan.

...James has been learning how to spell. Check it out -

"D-O-G. James!"
"D-O-G. Mommy!"
"D-O-G. Dog!" (at least he got one right!)

...our boy has quite the budding personality. And quite the smile. And he loves his new "Liken McQueen" shirt from Aunt Annie. And he likes to put on his own shoes.

...James found a new favorite pastime in squirting Jukie's and Bapa's deck with the hose.

...and watering the lawn. A lot.

......uh, hi Josh!

....life is great!

Pals

Aren't friends fun?
