St. George

We had a great time with my family last week in St. George! We stayed down there for a week in a fun house my parents rented. James absolutely LOVED swimming in the pool and spending so much time with some of his favorite people! There will be more pictures to come - here is a fun panoramic one I took in Snow Canyon.

Sleep talking

Last night I was very sleepy, and went to bed before Jonathan. This morning he told me that when he came to bed I (in my sleep, since I have no recollection of this) said to him, "cold it to the wettest!" He apparently questioned my request, to which I responded "Cold it to the wettest!" He somehow deciphered my strange demand and turned on the fan in our room.

So glad I have such a good husband who can read my mind :)

You Know You're a Mommy...

...when you realize your shoulder is peeling from a sunburn (on the first day of vacation??)....and then come to find out that it isn't actually a peeling sunburn, it's dried-on Gerber oatmeal.

What James has been up to

James is talking like crazy, going up and down the stairs many, many times a day, and just bursting with energy. He is such a happy guy and we just love him :) Can you blame us?

Yesterday he was loving the stairs so much; he would climb all the way up into our loft and ask to watch Cars, which I turned on. Lately his attention span for movies is very short - as in, after watching the movie for about twenty seconds he said, "Done!" and started climbing down the stairs. So we went ALL the way down to the living room. After about a minute he headed up the stairs again. This continued on and on pretty much all day. I think we either need to find some baby gates that work with our stairs, or just be glad that we are getting so in shape by climbing stairs constantly.

Here's our little bud smiling for the camera. He just loves getting his picture taken (conveniently). In fact, he is so used to his Mommy whipping out her camera...

...that he has been getting into photography himself! He found this old camera of mine and now keeps it in his toy box. He loves to get it out and "take pictures" of his favorite toys and his parents.

He absolutely loves our new house, and loves it when his Daddy throws balls WAY up high.

He got a new red stool that he keeps in the bathroom and has learned how to pull it up to the counter and brush his teeth! This is a major accomplishment (even though he mostly sucks on the water and doesn't really brush) since he has always hated it when I brush his teeth. What a big boy!

His new word for yogurt: "Gook." This boy LOVES eating his gook, it is probably one of his favorite foods!

James loves it when Daddy is home in the evenings on the weekends. Here they are having some man time at the end of the day with some string cheese and a good ol' game of Lego Star Wars on the Wii.

my cousins have cute kids

Saturday we had a wonderful brunch/get-together with my Gibbons grandparents, aunts & uncles, and cousins (at least all who were in town) - plus all the adorable offspring of my cousins. With such a fun and good-looking group, how could I not take a million photos? It was a beautiful (albeit cold - for August), cloudy day at Liberty Park - perfect for pictures!

I love the pictures of my sweet grandparents, and I think it is remarkable to see what a great posterity has come from the two of them. These two are truly amazing people!
