Who needs bath toys when you have shampoo bottles?

The Johnson & Johnson's shampoo was the Dada, the Bath and Body Works body wash was the Mama, and the trial-size Dove body wash was the baby. A big plastic cup was the "bed" and the baby was sleeping in it. What an imagination!

"Hi, Geese!!"

Yesterday we spent the morning at Wheeler Farm, and James just loved seeing all the "anmals." The ones he like the most were the geese. In fact he chased them down for about 20 minutes, yelling "Hi, Geese!! Hi, Geese!!"

I love a sweet deal.

So you know those blogs that show sweet deals people get on groceries through coupons and such? They show a picture of all the food bought at the awesome low price of like $17.50 or something. I always think it would be great to start really clipping coupons and getting all into that, but it hasn't happened yet. BUT - as some of you know, I do love a good bargain. Today we went to Walmart and totally scored on their leftover Halloween stuff. All of their Halloween merchandise was NINETY PERCENT OFF. We got $250 worth of costumes and such for about $25. Now THAT is a sweet deal.

We got ten costumes, three wigs, tons of accessories, two candy bowls, a bunch of plastic cups, and two big buckets. Pretty sweet, right?

SO EXCITED

So, yesterday I shot my very first "real" photo shoot! The little girl was absolutely adorable, and I am just so pleased with how the pictures turned out. Unfortunately, I cannot post any of the pictures yet, because they are a Christmas surprise for someone. BUT, I definitely will post some after Christmas :)

I just had to share because I am so dang excited!!

AND, I wanted to say that if anyone in the Salt Lake area would like children/family pictures taken, I would love the experience (and the resulting building of the portfolio), and can offer you a SWEET deal.

...we've resorted to bribery.

We have recently discovered that James loves m&m's (or 'ems' as he calls them), and that he will do almost anything to get some. So, when he starts to refuse to eat his dinner, I now know I have a great way to get him to actually eat his food. It worked today for lunch (granted, lunch was just a peanut butter sandwich and a banana, not like a chicken casserole or something, but still - he was rebelling and wouldn't eat it!) And he is just so happy with 3 or 4 m&m's, as long as he gets at least one red one...

so...

...my family is pretty awesome.

Today Jonathan tuned our piano and James wanted in on the action! (hehe...no pun intended) He was just mesmerized watching the hammers move when he played the keys. It was the cutest thing. You can almost see the little wheels turning in his head as he figures out how things work. It's so fun seeing my baby turn into a little boy and to see him hanging out with his Daddy. I can definitely see him being into gadgets (not to mention music!) like his Daddy.

James loves watching his Daddy shave in the morning, and I just find it so dang cute. Jonathan puts the cover of his razor on and pretends to "shave" James' face, too. I'm so glad my boys are such good buddies!

Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween, we decided to be characters from our favorite movies. James went as the little boy from The Polar Express! He looked adorable in his blue bathrobe and slippers, and he carried a bell and a golden Polar Express ticket.


Here he is with his Daddy at Jonathan's work party - we didn't wear our real costumes to his work party, just because we figured most people would probably not get it. But, we did dress up - I wore a witch's hat and Jonathan went for this 70's look. He was actually quite a big hit.


For our real costumes on Halloween, Jonathan and I went as Howard Bannister and Judy Maxwell from the movie What's Up, Doc?. If you haven't seen this movie, you've got to. It was really fun to dress up like this, since we can quote almost the entire movie. My family recognized who we were right away (which is always good) and got a big kick out of it. I think Jonathan pulled off the nerdy music professor look very well. He even carried a tuning fork in his pocket and a bag full of rocks. We got matching plaid bags at Walmart, and we found Jonathan's sweet suit and my awesome hat at DI.
