Fun at Nana & Grandy's

We have been having a lot of fun at Jonathan's parents' house. Even though we came to Utah for Thanksgiving, we got to spend a couple of days with some of Jonathan's siblings who came home for Thanksgiving week. So we were blessed and got to spend the holiday with both of our families! Jonathan's Mom even made some pies while we were home! Here are a bunch of pictures from last week -

James and Uncle Joseph

Happy Birthday, Spencer!

James and his 2nd cousin, Preston, who weighs about the same as James and is only about four months old!

James playing with his 2nd cousin Verl - Verl had James' toy car and James was a bit uneasy about the whole sharing thing...

Spencer was ordained a Teacher on Sunday - way to go, Spencer!

We went to Boise and saw the Forgotten Carols with Jonathan's family and some ward friends, and then we stopped at McDonald's for apple pie and ice cream! Yummy!

A Night at the Opera

Last night we went to BYU and saw the opera Don Giovanni in which Benjamin played one of the leads, Leporello. He did a wonderful job and it was all really well-done. He is so talented and it was so fun to see him in this role - his character provided a lot of the comic relief in the opera and (we think) he got more applause than anyone! Way to go, Benjamin!

Jonathan's entire family (well, almost - we missed you, Tessems! And of course Jared too, who is on his mission) was there along with some cousins, and my sister Liz came along with us, too. What a fun evening!

Liz rode home to Salt Lake with us and was very happy to see our sleepy boy, who stayed with Grandma and Grandpa

Oh and p.s. in other news - I got whistled at at the gas station. I just had to share because it was really funny and that has never happened to me before! And Jonathan was even sitting in the passenger's seat of the car when it happened - I guess whoever it was didn't notice him. It was funny because I had my hair pulled back, but it was bugging me so I took it out and kind of shook my hair to straighten it out, and then I heard the whistle. It reminded me of this one time when my best friend Janina and I were driving somewhere in her car, and there was a car full of guys next to us kind of checking us (well, probably her) out, so she flashed her huge, gorgeous ring at them. That put a stop to that!

James Taylor!

Growing up we used to listen to music a lot, and some of our favorites were artists that my Dad really liked - The Moody Blues, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles, and our favorite - James Taylor! I have lots of fun memories of driving in the car on family vacations and listening to James Taylor. I still listen to his music quite a bit, and one of our family's favorites now is Sweet Baby James (for obvious reasons!). Last night my three sisters and I went to the James Taylor concert, and it was awesome! He sang a lot of the classics (Sweet Baby James, You've Got a Friend, Fire and Rain) as well as some newer songs, and some new covers he did for an album that's coming out. We had so much fun! Jonathan and James stayed home and had a little guys night in.

our way overpriced but good food :)
