Just wanted to share this great video of my cute sister. She's a missionary for the LDS church in Seattle and I'm sure the people there just love her and her fun personality - I mean, how could you not? Her cute companion is from Mongolia. I think my sister is pretty awesome and watching this video made me miss her! Check out her mission blog that my Mom updates for her. Love you, Liz!

Comfy Conference Weekend
Conference was just wonderful, as always. We watched the morning sessions at home while drinking hot cocoa and eating cinnamon rolls, then headed over to my parents' house for the other sessions.
James kept his Daddy busy playing blanket games together. In my family we call them "blanket tricks," and they consist of the child laying in the middle of a blanket, while the Daddy grabs all four corners of the blanket and swings or spins it around. This has been one of James' favorite activities lately, and he will often ask, "Baby? Blanket? Guy?" Translation: "I want to lay in the blanket like a baby while Daddy swings me up to the sky!"
As you can see, they also had fun hiding from Mama in the blanket, and riding on the blanket like a car.
What were your favorite talks at Conference? There were so many good ones; I especially enjoyed:
Elder Bednar's talk. He talked about three ways to become more diligent and concerned in our homes. 1) Express love & show it, 2) Bear testimony & live it, and 3) Be consistent.
Elder Scott's talk. He talked about learning how to be led by the Spirit.
President Uchtdorf's talk. He said, "Love is the way of the disciple."
President Eyring's talk. He talked about becoming more like the Savior. He said, "We can and must expect to become better as long as we live."
President Monson's talk. "What did you do for someone today?"
And of course Elder Holland's talk where he bore powerful testimony of the Book of Mormon.
I can't wait to re-read all of the talks!

Pumpkins & Family Home Morning
James was so excited to get pumpkins this year - just like last year! He has learned a little about pumpkins recently (what with all the pumpkins on people's porches), he knows that they are orange (which is the color we are working on - he's got red down!) and he is pretty good at saying the word "pumpkin" (although it is very similar to the words "pine cone" and "penguin").Yesterday for our *Family Home Morning activity we bought our pumpkins, and man he was so excited! Here he is, waiting in great anticipation...
This boy loves to go out on our front steps and look at the "beeg" (big) pumpkins. He can tell you which one is his (the smallest one), which one is Mama's (the medium one), and which one is Daddy's (the big one).
What fun it is to have kids around the holidays!
*Because of our family's schedule, we can't have Family Night on Monday nights. So, we decided to have "Family Home Morning" on Monday mornings. It has been so much fun and a real blessing in our lives.
Back before James was born, Jonathan and I were both in school and would get home late on Monday night, eat dinner, do homework and struggle to fit Family Night in because we were so tired and trying to do so many other things. We were in a Sunday School class one Sunday where we were discussing Family Home Evening, and somebody made a comment that totally changed our Family Nights. They said that one thing that had worked for them was to just designate the entire evening as family night, instead of just trying to fit it in and get it done and check it off the list.
We thought this sounded interesting, so we tried it. It turned Family Night from something we had to get done to something we really looked forward to! We decided that from the time we got home from school in the evenings (or from dinner time until we went to bed) it was family night. We didn't do any homework during that time, we just spent time together, until we went to bed. This helped to make it more of a priority, and, frankly, more of a party. It was almost like a second date night to look forward to.
Although it is hard sometimes, we try to do the same thing now. All morning long is family time, and we really look forward to it!

Lessons Learned
This afternoon we had family home evening before Jonathan left for work. We have been doing FHE lessons from the cute new nursery manual that came out a little while ago. James LOVES looking at the pictures of Jesus and is so cute when we talk about Jesus.
Today our lesson was called "Jesus Christ Showed Us How to Love Others." James was so dang cute as I was teaching him the little lesson - he kept on nodding his head and enthusiastically saying "yeah!" about everything I said. We were talking about how we can show love to others by being nice to everyone. We then gave him some examples of being nice to people - one of which was being nice to Jukie (his Grandma, who he calls "Giki" lately) even when he is playing with Grandpa (this kid is a little obsessed with his Grandpa and sometimes he is the ONLY person he wants to play with - this one day he wasn't very nice to her when she tried to sit down next to him and play). So we finished up our lesson and that was that.

This evening as James and I were visiting with my family, I mentioned our family home evening lesson, and said that we had learned to be nice to everyone. Without missing a beat, James got all excited and said "Giki!"
So glad that he learned something! :)

What we've been up to...
With the plethora of pictures I have been taking and posting, I really haven't written many updates here! Thought I'd catch you all up on the happenings of our exciting life...
*Most importantly and most exciting is the news that Jonathan went permanent at his job this month! Up until now he has been working there as a temp, and as such he hasn't been getting any benefits. We were VERY blessed that a position opened up and they offered it to him! He got a great pay raise as well as EXCELLENT benefits, which we are very excited about! We are feeling more and more like "real adults" as we get our 401k, cafeteria plan, etc. up and running. What a blessing :) We are very excited!
*We are currently planning and preparing to find a place of our own to live - looking into possibly buying a home, fun stuff like that! While we are so grateful to my Grandma for letting us live in her house, we are SO excited and ready to have a place of our own again.
*I have started teaching piano again a little after not really teaching for a year and a half - and I love it! I currently have one cute student who is really talented and I am in the process of looking for more.
*Jonathan and I are teaching the 8-year-olds in Primary, which is fun but is QUITE the challenge as some of these kids are SUPER rambunctious. They are sweet though, and it is fun to have a calling with my husband!
*James has been going to nursery, and this past Sunday he went by himself and stayed the ENTIRE TIME for the very first time! We are so proud of him! He did cry a lot when we left, but then he did pretty well and (we think) had a fun time! Our boy is growing so fast!
*If you couldn't tell, I am obSESSED with photography and photo editing, and have been doing that a ton during James' naps. I can't seem to get enough! I would love to (eventually) have my own little photography business - we'll see what happens with that!
*As posted earlier, James is obsessed with cars (toy cars, books about cars, the movie Cars, riding in cars, "driving" cars, drawing cars, etc.), his Grandpa (he is CONSTANTLY saying "Bapa!"), and babies (he loves to "be a baby" - he lays down on the bed and has us wrap him up like a baby - which is really funny because when I was a toddler I went through a phase where I would always want to "be a baby!"; he loves looking at pictures of the "baby" (aka himself) on the computer or the camera and he gets SO excited whenever he sees a baby or a picture of a baby - it's pretty cute!)
*James' vocabulary is really expanding! Aside from other previously posted words he uses, here are some of his most recent words:
bet (bed)
bet (bread)
book (yes he can now say it correctly!)
bux (box)
wake! or make! ("I'm awake!")
baby
dit (treat)
bus
bat (bath)
bash (splash)
'nike! (goodnight!)

Also, his new FAVORITE word seems to be "NO." Terrible twos, here we come...

homecoming, nursery & family fun!
Sunday was a great day - not only was it Jared's homecoming at church (he did a wonderful job on his talk, and the Boster men all sang a beautiful musical number - ah, I love my Boster men!), but it was also wonderful because James WENT TO NURSERY for the first time!! He officially turns 18 months this week, and we realized we were going to be in the Owyhee Ward for three weeks in a row, so why not try it out? It was the weirdest feeling leaving him in there - part of me was sad and felt bad leaving, but the other part of me was shouting "hallujah!! freedom!" What a weird thing to actually sit through Sunday School with my husband and actually get to pay attention to the lesson! I have to admit, I am so not used to paying attention that I found it a little difficult...
James did really well for about half the time, but apparently he got pretty sad when they were singing and coloring. He LOVED playing with toys, though, and I think he enjoyed the snack. We'll try again next week and see how he does!
We had such a fun Sunday afternoon with the fam. Jonathan's cousin Stephen and his wife Jen and their two cute boys came to the homecoming and then to dinner after, and James had a lot of fun playing with this 2nd cousins! They are just adorable boys. At one point all THREE boys were crawling around the porch making monkey noises. So cute. James was outside pretty much ALL day Sunday. He is now just getting old enough to really LOVE going to Nana and Grandy's house, and he just had a ball!
Ah, I love the Bosters! What a wonderful family. Glad I'm part of it!

Bye, Liz!
My sister Liz went into the MTC today! We are going to miss her so much but we know she is going to be an amazing missionary! We can't wait to hear from her. We all went to the MTC with her today, and we were all a bit teary but we are just so happy for her! I think one of the hardest things for me was that she and James won't get to see each other for a long time, and he will be SO big when she gets home! They have become good buds the past couple of weeks! James didn't do too well during the orientation meeting - he kept wanting to "Go go go!" What can I say...he is a true Gibbons!

Our Easter Sunday
We not only had a wonderful Easter Sunday, but have had such a fun weekend with my family. My cute sister Liz is leaving this Wednesday to serve a mission for our church in the Washington Seattle Mission. Since she has moved home from Provo last week we have been spending lots of time with her and with the rest of the family.
Today was Liz's farewell and she gave such an amazing talk about the Savior and the Atonement. I really look up to her! She is going to be an amazing missionary. Josh also spoke in church and did a great job - I've got amazing siblings! My parents fed dinner to over 80 people afterwards, and it was just a really great day. Benjamin came up from Provo and spent the day with us and my family, too (he just fits right in with my fam!).
