Walking Man

Today my amazing Dad ran and finished his third marathon! He ran in the Deseret News marathon and finished in 4:08 - pretty amazing if you ask me!

I am pretty proud of my Dad - can I just brag for a sec? He has always liked walking over the years. He would go for long, long walks (we're talking like someone would drop him off at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon and then he'd walk home!). In fact, this song always has reminded me of him...

A few years ago he decided to start running, and he eventually ran his first marathon (the Deseret News marathon). Then, a little over a year ago, my Dad decided once and for all that he was tired of being overweight. So, he just started walking. He decided to walk to work and hasn't stopped since. Every single day he walked four miles there and four miles back. Then he started running. He has lost TONS of weight and is healthier than he has been in a long time (not to mention he is handsome and tan as all get-out!). I am so proud of him!

We got to go cheer him on today as he ran his third marathon and got his best time ever.

My Two Amazing Dads

I love my Dad so much - he is one of my best buddies and sometimes we just think right on the same wavelength and get the same humor, I love it. He is so smart and wise and is just a great guy! He is such a wonderful dad and grandpa - we love you, Datty! Happy Fathers Day!

I couldn't have asked for a better father-in-law! Jonathan's dad is amazing, he is so fun to be around and to joke around with. He is such a hard worker and I have learned so much from him. I am so grateful that MY husband (the father of my son) has such a wonderful father as an example. Happy Fathers Day, Dad - we love you!

My Dad, the Marathon Man

On Saturday my Dad ran the Salt Lake City Marathon. We are so proud of him! This was his second marathon; on his first one he got about 5 hours and 30 minutes. This time, his goal was 4 hours and 30 minutes, and he got 4 hours 12 minutes! Way to go, Datty!

Grandpa the Judge

James got to visit his Grandpa Gibbons at work the other day. It had been quite awhile since he had been there, so it was all new to him and he was very interested in all the fun things Grandpa has in his office. We had a nice visit with Grandpa and he even took James into his courtroom and they sat at the bench - James mostly liked the microphone. It's fun to compare these pictures to the pictures I took of James visiting my Dad at work when James was about a month and half old - James has grown up so much! And I must add that my Dad has lost about 60 pounds since then, he looks awesome! I'm so proud of him!

Grandpa got out his chess set and was showing James the pieces. James started chewing on them and we were worried he'd chew off the felt bottoms, so Grandpa took them away from him. James got the saddest look on his face and just cried, and he just buried his head in my chest and cuddled for a minute. It was pretty sad.

These are such cute pictures. In the first one you can see a big tear on James' cheek.

James and his cute Grandma. Lately James has been sticking his tongue out ALL the time, it's hilarious.
