more vacation pics

Just some more pictures from our trip to St. George -

me and my baby - I think this is such a cute picture of James!

I LOVE these next three pictures of James - he lately has almost constantly been making this cute little face by sucking in his lower lip. We are convinced that once he's got some upper teeth, this look will be the famous "Boster look" - who knew things like that were genetic?

*finger foods*

James has started finger foods! It is so nice because it keeps him occupied while I eat my dinner, or while I get his food ready. I kept trying to feed him watermelon, and he just hated it, it was hilarious. Finally I went and got those little Gerber's finger foods - the apple cinnamon puffs - they mush up really easily, so that's good, and he really likes them! He usually ends up eating a few, and the rest end up on his bib or on the floor, and many end up getting soggy in his little fists as I feed him his breakfast - he just holds on to those little things so tight! It is so funny. Here are some pictures of his very first try...

family vacation

Here are more pictures from our trip to St. George! Jonathan grew his annual vacation beard for the occasion. Here we are at Tuacahn waiting to watch Les Mis - it was good, but it was also really hot; we had fun though!

James got some new summery pj's and they are so cute. Here he is in his booster seat ready and waiting for his breakfast!

James and Grandma in their pj's! We got to celebrate both Grandma's and Grandpa's birthdays while we were on our trip - I believe this was taken on Grandma's birthday. Happy birthday, Mama and Popsy! :)

Liz and I painted our toenails. Josh had lots of fun photo-shopping this picture on the Wii. Too bad I don't have a copy. :)

We ate at Cafe Rio for Mama's birthday. This was the first time that James has sat in one of the little kid booster seats at a restaurant - I can't believe how big he's getting!

Grandma bought James this new outfit - my favorite part is the hat! He sometimes even keeps it on.

Me and my baby! All ready for bed - James is wearing his new monster pj's - so cute!

James and his Daddy. Jonathan is sporting his French painter look.

Me and my cute husband. :)

And here we all are in rainbow order! I'm not sure what was up with my camera. L to R is Josh, Travis (Liz's boyfriend), Liz, Annie, Jonathan, me, and Abby.

our little swimmer

We had a fun vacation with my family last week; we went to St. George and stayed in an awesome vacation home and had such a fun time relaxing and being together. James got to go swimming for the very first time and he absolutely loved it - he would just kick and kick, and loved being in his little boat. Here are some pictures of our cute boy -

Glenn family bridal shower

This month we had a fun bridal shower that we gave for my cousin Jared's wife, Kelsey. It was held at my aunt Jamie's house, and all the aunts helped put it together and do the food, and I was in charge of doing some games. We played a fun game called "Name that Glenn Girl" - I put together a list of random/funny/interesting facts about each of us, and everyone had to guess which Glenn girl each one was about. It was tons of fun and we all got to know each other better! I am so grateful for my family and all the fun we have together.

It's not a bridal shower without awkward games, right?

a fun 4th

Happy 4th of July! We had a really fun day hanging out with family and friends. This morning my boys and I went hiking with my Dad, Annie, and Josh. We just did a short little hike up in Big Cottonwood Canyon, and it was really fun. James did so well riding in his carrier, and he was quite interested in the new surroundings.

Here are some pictures of our hike!

It was also kind of an interesting day - while driving down the canyon there were all these paramedics and a life flight helicopter and news cameras, and we were wondering what had happened. Well, we soon found out - my sister was going hiking with her boyfriend today for a triple date, and he and his brothers were setting up for it this morning. His brother stayed up there to keep an eye on things while the guys picked up their dates, and he ended up falling off a cliff and getting injured really badly. So it was quite the day for my sister and her boyfriend. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family tonight.

We spent the rest of the day with my family (and the guys my sisters are dating) and had so much fun! We had a yummy barbecue and hung out for a long time.

Here is James in his 4th of July t-shirt I got for him at Target - you've gotta love the dollar section! James had a big day today - his first hike, and he pulled himself up to standing for the first time! Jonathan set him down in the crib so he could go empty the garbage, and James thought he was putting him down for a nap (which he actually did need....) and he got so angry that he cried and cried, and when I walked in the room he was standing up! What a strong boy. He has done it a couple more times today. I just can't believe how fast he is growing up!

James was super cuddly today, which was so much fun! Here he is with his Uncle Josh.

James and his new buddy Travis. At this point James was just exhausted, hence the blank look on his face.

For some reason, James just loves Rob and was cuddling with him so cute! He usually is not way cuddly for very long, especially with people he doesn't know as well - but he was so happy cuddling with Rob, it was way cute!

We hung out outside quite a bit and played some fun games - Bocce and "Goofy Golf" - it was a lot of fun. Here is James with his Grandma.

We were putting together the goals for goofy golf and Jonathan was getting creative...

Liz and Abby playing goofy golf -

We decided we'd better go see some fireworks, so Mom and Dad stayed home with the baby (who was finally sound asleep - yay!) while the rest of us went to the fireworks show at City Hall in Holladay. It was pretty funny, because Dad had heard something about the show being way short (he's the judge, so he works with all those official people...) - we found some grass down the street to sit on, and spread out our blankets and waited. Suddenly there were two or three fireworks, and then they just stopped. After like, ten seconds. We really thought it was over for a minute, because of what Dad said. We were all confused and talking about how lame that would be if it was really over - and all of a sudden the sprinklers came on! It was hilarious, all the people kinda screamed and jumped up really quickly. So, needless to say, we had to find somewhere else to go. We ended up just going right to the park by City Hall and there was plenty of room to sit, and there actually was a fireworks show - and it was really good! We had a lot of fun.

Pretty much a really funny picture...

If you look closely you can see some fireworks in the background!

Some fireworks. I tried to take a bunch of pictures, and they pretty much just didn't turn out. Travis got some way good ones, though, cuz his camera has a fireworks setting! I'm jealous.

Jumping

We just got James a Johnny Jump Up, and he absolutely loves it! My family had one growing up, and I have been wanting to get one for the boy. Did you know that they make pink ones called Jenny Jump Ups? I had no idea, and I thought that this was awesome. Well anyway, here is a video of the boy having fun in his Johnny Jump Up. Oh, and one of the facts of motherhood that I have discovered is that you have no shame in making weird noises to get your baby to laugh. And then you post videos of this on your blog, for all the world to hear. Oh well, at least my son thinks I'm hilarious! Oh and as you can hear, this boy loves saying "Da da!!" We are still working on "ma ma"...

And another jumping video, this time he is getting excited because of his Daddy's piano music. I tell ya, this kid has got class - I mean, doesn't Bach just make you wanna jump around?
