fun at the farm

Here are some more fun pictures from our trip home to Oregon last month. The first few days we were there we had some really good weather and enjoyed spending time outside. Of course, it wouldn't be a trip home without some hard work...so here is the fam out changing water...

Jonathan and Mom working hard!

Benjamin in the pasture

It was a beautiful evening!

James and Mommy

I had to put this one in, you've gotta love the little board shorts. James and his Grandy had lots of fun playing together!

Jeff, Lily and Jack hanging out on the lawn

James going for a ride on his Daddy's shoulders

I couldn't resist putting a few of these pictures of James up...he is just too darn cute!

It was really hot one day, so we decided to run through the sprinklers! It was James' first experience with sprinklers, and he wasn't so sure about it - but doesn't he look so cute in his little swim suit and hat?

The whole fam, running through the sprinklers

Cousin Lily had a few issues with her pants ... sorry, couldn't resist putting this one up!

Grandy took the kids on some wagon rides with the lawn mower - what a fun Grandpa! This brought back memories of being at my great-aunt and uncle's farm in Idaho, and my great-uncle Angus taking the kids on wagon rides with the tractor. :)

Happy Fathers Day!

I just wanted to say Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers in my life! I am so thankful for my Dad, he is one of the wisest and kindest people I know! He is so much fun to be around and I could not have asked for a more awesome Dad. He is the greatest guy. I love you, Datty!

I am so blessed to have an AMAZING father-in-law. I love and look up to Jonathan's Dad so much, he is always so kind and supportive. I love how his family is his top priority - he is such an amazing man! I love you!

I have the best husband ever, I am so grateful for Jonathan and that he is such a great daddy to our little guy. I love you, Babe! Thanks for always being so sweet and supportive - I am so glad that James has such a great Dad to look up to. :)

Friends

Today I got to see my good friend Amy for the first time in a few years, I think - I hadn't seen her since before she left on her mission, and she's been home for quite awhile now. It was so good to catch up with her, she is so cute! We grew up in the same ward. Amy and my sister Annie and another cute friend, Melodie, came over and we ate Cafe Rio and visited for awhile. It was so much fun!

James meeting Amy

We had a fun visit with my Mom and siblings tonight. James sure loves his aunties and Uncle Josh! Here he is learning to "walk" :)

James loves his Aunt Liz!

Bananas

Yum! You can't tell from this picture, but James really liked this!

James and his Daddy

Lately James has been babbling up a storm. In the past couple of days, his favorite thing to say is "Da da da" - he has been saying it all day long! I'm not sure that he knows what it means, but it is pretty darn cute. Sometimes he kind of slowly whispers it, as if he is practicing how to say it. Here is James and his "Da da" reading a book together.

the gals' shopping excursion

When we were in Oregon, the girls (and James) all went shopping while the boys worked outside in the hot sun (sad) - but we had lots of fun! Mostly we just tried on awesome hats and accessories, and bought a few choice purchases from the dollar store :)

Anna, Emma Jeane, Rebecca, me and Sierra at the dollar store

James was such a good boy during the whole outing!

Sierra, Bethany, Emma Jeane, Anna, Rebecca & Kathleen looking lovely in pink!

Fun times at World Market - here is Sierra, Rebecca and me

Sophisticated Anna

Cute Bethany

Me with an awesome Chinese-looking umbrella

Cute Rebecca!

"Trying on" dresses (or shirts? not sure...) at Kohls

We bought these lovely flowered accessories :) at the dollar store for all the married gals - even Nana. We were just trying to cheer up the guys, who had been working all afternoon...

James' first solids!

Tonight we fed James his very first solid food, rice cereal - it was so much fun! I still can't believe he's almost six months old already! He actually took it pretty well, considering that he was really tired and getting fussy (the past couple of days he randomly will not take a nap! I don't know what to do, he just cries and cries and won't fall asleep . . . any suggestions?) A lot of it ended up on his bib, but I think he actually ate a lot of it - and he seemed to really want to eat it - either that or he just really wanted to bite the spoon. Here are some fun pictures:

a Boster family weekend

The first weekend we were in Oregon was so much fun, because the ENTIRE family (except Jared, of course) was there! All six of the grandkids were there, and James finally got to meet his Aunt Kathleen and Uncle Jeff, and three of his cousins.

Here is James with his Grandy and his cousin Joshua, born about 4 1/2 months before him.

All three of the Boster grandkids born in 2007 - Joshua (July), James (December), and Gracie (January).

Here is a cute picture of Lily and Hannah with their Aunt Sierra. These girls are growing up so fast! Hannah loved hanging out with Lily and Sierra, and was heard commenting "These are my girls!"

James and his Uncle Joseph - good buddies, both tall dark and handsome (James is still working on the tall and dark part, but he'll get there!)

James was very fascinated with Grandy's watch.

Me with 2 1/2 year-old Hannah.

James finally got to meet his Aunt Kathleen! We had so much fun spending time with the Tessems - we hadn't seen them since they moved to North Carolina last year.

Aunt Emma Jeane is sure a favorite with the kids. She will be the cutest mom someday!

Cute Joshua

Lily loved holding James - she calls him "Baby James" and they were good buddies.

The guys playing an intense game of tennis on the Wii. Since it was cold and rainy for a lot of days that we were there, we had lots of fun playing the Wii. The second day or so that we were there, Lily came up to Jonathan and said, "Can we play the Who??" We called it the Who from then on!

we're back!

We just got home from spending about a week and a half visiting Jonathan's family in Adrian, Oregon. We had the best time, it was a nice little vacation for our family. The first weekend we were home, Jonathan's entire family was there (all except Jared, who is on a mission in New Zealand); it was the first time in awhile that we'd all been together. I have so many fun pictures and things to post, but not much time now, so I will do it later. Here are a couple of pictures, though - the beautiful view from their farm, and my boys going for a walk!

a first

Well, I don't have any pictures to go along with this (now THAT is a first!) but I just wanted to tell what James did today for the first time. He was crying in his crib, and his Daddy picked him up and was holding him; I had just gotten home from the store, and when James saw me he totally REACHED FOR ME!! It was SO cute. It is the first time he's really done that, like he meant to do it. It was the best feeling ever! I love being a mom!
